Job Summary
IBS JobTraining Services provides training solutions nationwide in partnership with employment and workforce development agencies, businesses and other organizations looking to improve the work readiness, employability and the on the job professional and technical skills of their participants and workforce.
The QuickBooks Vocational Instructor will spend some of their time developing curriculum and building project based classroom activities. The majority of the Instructors time will be spent teaching students new skills to improve their opportunities for employment. Our instructors play an important role in guiding students to learn professional behavior, help build their confidence, and advise them on choices in both occupational and educational opportunities that will help them to achieve their goals. Our instructional style supports a student-centered learning environment that emphasizes real-life applications in which we look to engage and empower every student.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- At least 2 years’ experience as an instructor or teacher; additional experience as a corporate trainer is a plus
- Experience as a trainer working with Adults
- Instructional or professional experience using QuickBooks 2012
- Drug free, clear background check relevant to working with young adults
- Posses a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to facilitate travel through the assigned area
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook 2013
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- A passion for working with people to help them reach their potential
- Experience with curriculum, lesson planning and project-based learning and contribute to curriculum development as part of the Instructional team
- Understanding of classroom dynamics, learning styles, and ability to assess students for understanding for improved learning experience and establish what is working and identify areas for improvement
- Strong interpersonal skills, engaging personality, entrepreneurial spirit, a team player, and take on new challenges with enthusiasm
- Plan and provide high-quality, student-driven, and project-based daily training in which students learn, are challenged, and enjoy the learning process.
- Participate in periodic Professional Development workshops, trainings, and staff meetings
- Contribute to the entire team by helping other IBS staff members when needed
- Have a consistently positive and can-do attitude, which is essential in being a good team player and role model.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience working in groups with diverse individuals.
- A commitment to implement progressive teaching methodologies and create a hands-on interactive learning environment
- Ability to maintain spreadsheets and complete weekly reports on classroom activity and outcomes
- Value the importance of being safety conscious
