The objective of this course is to provide an overview of the computing field and its typical applications and provide knowledge in key terminology and components of computer hardware, software, and operating systems. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to define basic computer terminology, identify and describe computer hardware components, identify and define the types of computer software, use simple system software features, and explain the systems development life cycle. There is no prerequisite for this course. This course is tailored to meet the needs of a beginner or enhance the existing skills of those who have computer experience.
